Flagship Projects | "Consultant for OFID-UNDP Cross-Regional Grants Competition: Electoral observer with the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO): List of projects and civic initiatives conducted as part of the Intercultural Institute Timisoara team: Between 2011 and 2014 I was assigned to develop capacity – building projects in Libya. I have initiated and implemented projects related to: capacity – building activities for Libyan NGOs (NGO’s own funding); capacity – building and human rights pilot project for the Kuwayfyiah Prison of Benghazi (European Commission funded project for 1 year – July 2012 & July 2013); training and capacity – building activities for Libyan prison staff (bilateral agreement with the Libyan Ministry of Justice and the Judicial Police). ”In Other Words” - The project aimed to react to the current situation in which the media are vehicles for stereotypes' dissemination and help improve the correctness of media discourse and messages. My role in the project was to coordinate the national multi-stakeholders group for media monitoring and analysis and to advice on the drafting of policy proposals targeting no hate speech in national media. ”ACID: Active Citizens for Intercultural Dialogue” - The aim of the ACID project is to organize citizens’ panels exploring original and innovative methodology, with the potential to encourage citizens’ participation and to stimulate dialogue between European citizens and the institutions of the European Union on the importance of intercultural dialogue in the context of an increasingly multicultural society. My role was to organize citizens’ panels at local and national level and to participate in the transnational working group at the European level. ”UCYVROK: Uniting for Citizenship and Participation: Youth promoting Vulnerable Groups” - The general aim of the project was to promote and foster the empowerment and participation of young people from less privileged groups, e.g. ethnic or religious minorities, youth from rural areas, socially disadvantaged families or other groups confronted with prejudices, discrimination or social exclusion such as disabled or LGBT youth. Being a transnational project, my role was to coordinate the national activities (awareness campaign, training courses) with young people from disadvantage groups in Romania. ”Together for Youth participation” – The transnational seminar gathered 30 young leaders from 6 European countries to address, through a structured dialogue process, the lack of participation of youth in public policy development. My role was to manage the project and act as a co-trainer in the structured dialogue exercise. ”RURBAN: interculturality in rural and urban areas in Romania and Hungary” – The project aimed at enhancing cross-border cooperation among young people and youth CSOs from Romania and Hungary. My role as to act as a trainer during the 2 weeks international summer school and facilitate a process of non-formal education for young people. ”Project Citizen: Civic education programme with CIVITAS Network” – The project proposes a dedicated way of teaching civic education and is followed by a school curriculum for middle, secondary and post-secondary students. My role was to facilitate the knowledge sharing between the American and Romanian counterparts and develop policy proposals for the development of civic education national curricula according to the principles of non- formal education and Project citizen methodology. “Public policy initiative for a Youth Development Strategy in Timisoara” – The main focus of the initiative consisted in the development of a Youth Development Strategy for 2008 – 2013 in Timisoara. As a leader of this initiative, my role was to conduct training and coordinate a group of over 50 young people and NGO members for the consultative process for the elaboration of the policy document. Moreover, I have coordinated advocacy campaigns for the adoption of the Strategy. ”VotMania: Youth Local Council in Timisoara” – The project ensured the organization of elections in each high school in Timisoara of young councilors, training activities and logistical support for the Youth Local Council over the mandate 2007 – 2009. My role was to co-manage the project, conduct training activities and coordination of the elected youth during their mandate. |
